We’re talking about practice.
With the Bills and Steelers announcing that the teams will meet for a pair of combined preseason practices, linebacker Brandon Spikes offered his thoughts on lining up against the Black and Yellow.
“We’re beating up on each other all time, now we get an opportunity to see another team,” he said. “You get a look, and maybe a little edge on them after being with them for a couple of days.”
It’ll be the third time in as many seasons that Spikes will be a part of combined practices, after having faced the Buccaneers (2012) and Eagles (2013).
“When I was with the Patriots, we went up to Philadelphia and had to play against the spread offense. We were going to face a couple of teams with spread offense – we had a good look at it for a week and we were able to build off of it and prepare.”
In addition to the skill work on the field, Spikes plans to ratchet up the intensity as well. He expects the same from the Steelers.
“They’re going to be bringing it too,” said Spikes “It’s going to be very, very competitive and I embrace those types of deals.”
“It can give you a little extra edge when its time to go to war.”
