The regular season is a long way off, but if the prognosis for Dolphins Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey is accurate the Dolphins will not have their pivot man in the lineup against the Bills in Week 2.
ESPN first reported Monday that Pouncey underwent hip surgery that will keep him sidelined for at least three months. Three months from today is September 23rd, which is more than a week after the Bills host the Dolphins in their home opener on Sept. 14th.
Pouncey tore a labrum in his hip during OTAs for Miami. For an offensive line that is being revamped this offseason, Pouncey was being counted on to be the glue that held it together. Against Buffalo’s vaunted defensive line, the Dolphins offense could be in for a long day against their AFC East rival.
