Another week of offseason activity wrapping up at One Bills Drive. The rookies had a busy day Friday, taking the annual Rookie Tour of Buffalo and the surrounding areas. One of them, sixth round pick Tony Steward was along for the ride. The linebacker out of Clemson joined us to kick-off the show. He talked about his first impressions of Western New York, taking in Niagara Falls, New Era Cap, and even a special visit to Women’s & Children’s Hospital. Steward went on to talk about his first two weeks in Orchard Park and where he has been fitting in during the on-field sessions.
At the top of the second hour we reached out to ESPN Insider KC Joyner. In his latest article on ESPN.com, Joyner predicts the Bills will make the playoffs in 2015 and put the reason behind it on new head coach Rex Ryan, comparing Ryan’s charisma to former Yankees Manager Billy Martin. He believes Ryan can help improve an already top defense and his creativity across the board will push the team into the post season.
Finally, John Turney, a member of the Professional Football Researchers Association joined us to discuss the 2014 class of the “Hall of Very Good.” The Hall recognizes players and coaches that had outstanding careers but are not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Turney also shared some insight on Bruce Smith’s sack numbers as well.
