He’s been trying to work his way back from a calf injury and gave indication that he expected to play this Sunday against the Bills, but reports out of New Jersey say Giants slot receiver Victor Cruz suffered a setback with his calf injury.
According to Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, Cruz was unable to practice after feeling discomfort in his calf during individual position drills. The development certainly casts doubt on Cruz returning to the lineup Sunday in Buffalo.
Cruz missed more than half of last season with a knee injury suffered in mid-October. He’s been dealing with the calf injury and had not practiced since mid-August.
