The Bills aren’t the only team bringing a player off a reserve list. Just hours after the Bills activated Leodis McKelvin off the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list the Dolphins activated a running back.
The Dolphins activated running back Jay Ajayi from Reserve Injured/Designated for Return. To make room on the roster for Ajayi, the team waived center Sam Brenner.
Ajayi was the second of four fifth-round selections (149th overall) by Miami in the 2015 NFL draft out of Boise State.
In 2014, he rushed for 1,823 yards and recorded 535 receiving yards, becoming the only player in FBS history to accumulate 1,800 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards in a single season. His 1,823 rushing yards were also a Boise State record, along with his 28 rushing touchdowns.
Ajayi is expected to be a complement to feature back Lamar Miller and serve as a safety valve receiver for Ryan Tannehill out of the backfield.
Interim head coach Dan Campbell said this week that f he was activated that he would play against the Bills Sunday.
