Tonight the Bills open the first of a pair of back-to-back primetime games with the Jets in New York before they face the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football in Week 11. The last time Buffalo had back-to-back primetime games was in their final AFC title season of 1993. Here’s how they fared.
In Week 5 Buffalo won a tight game over the New York Giants in Orchard Park on Sunday night football by a score of 17-14. Pete Metzelaars had the game-winning touchdown catch on an eight-yard throw from Jim Kelly in the fourth quarter.
The following week on Monday Night Football the Bills hosted the Houston Oilers and routed them 35-7. Thurman Thomas and Kenny Davis combined for 137 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and Andre Reed had a pair of receiving TDs. Jim Kelly had just 15 completions, but three went for touchdowns in the win as Buffalo improved to 4-1 heading into their bye week.
