Being the only game on TV Thursday night got the Bills cover units on special teams some national recognition. Peter King’s Monday Morning QB column recognized a couple of Buffalo cover men on both kick and punt coverage in Buffalo’s win over the Jets last week.
Here’s what King wrote in his ‘10 Things I Think.‘
j. Chris Hogan of the Bills, with a great piece of kickoff coverage against the Jets.
k. Ron Brooks of the Bills, with a great piece of punt coverage against the Jets.
In the win over the Jets, the Bills held New York punt returner Jeremy Kerley to just 14 total yards on four punt returns to average just 3.5 yards per return. Buffalo was equally effective in kick coverage where they allowed New York to less than 16 yards a return (15.7).
The Bills currently lead the league in kickoff coverage.
