He’s only just completed his JV football season, but Steven Gilmore Jr. is playing quarterback and cornerback just like his older brother Stephon did at South Pointe high school in Rock Hill, South Carolina. And his older brother is keeping a watchful eye.
“Same offense, same coaches,” said Stephon Gilmore smiling. “Hopefully in a couple of years we’ll see the same results.”
Steven Gilmore was called up to the varsity squad at the end of the JV season to play receiver and cornerback. He’s in position to compete for the starting quarterback/cornerback jobs next season as a junior.
“He scored in every game I’m pretty sure,” said mother Linda Gilmore. “It’s exciting to see what’s coming together for him.”
Stephon, who is nine years older than Steven, is just making sure the social media world doesn’t swallow up his brother so he talks to him often to help keep him on track. Here’s a shot of Stephon’s younger brother in action as the team’s read option quarterback this season.
