Tyrod Taylor has made his share of progress in his first year as a starting quarterback. His decision making, deep ball accuracy, escapability and leadership are all encouraging aspects of his game. As head coach Rex Ryan sees it, the next step in helping the team to win games in the fourth quarter.
“I think all the numbers are telling you that this young man has a real chance,” said Ryan. “You’ll never be considered a great quarterback until you can bring your team back and win in those situations. I would say that’s the next stage-being able to bring his team back in those situations. I think we did against Tennessee. It might be the only I can think of offhand, and Houston too. I know we had five more opportunities as a team-you’d love to be able to see that on a consistent basis.”
