Mario Williams missed his second straight day of practice due to illness. Head coach Rex Ryan laid out Williams chances of playing Sunday as well as the lengths Williams went to in order to get caught up on the game plan.
“Hopefully he’ll be back. I know he wants to play,” said Ryan. “He came in and felt a little better late last night and came in and got with (defensive line coach) Karl Dunbar to discuss the (game) plan. I know he plans on playing. We hope he plays. I’m not sure. It’s two days he’s missed.”
When asked if Williams could play Sunday even if he doesn’t practice Friday this week, Ryan answered in the affirmative.
“Yeah as long as you know your responsibilities,” said Ryan. “But yeah certainly with his kind of abilities you want him out there period.”
