He’s faced Washington as an opponent twice a year for the last six years, so seeing the NFC East opponent again this year with the Bills is nothing new. LeSean McCoy has had a good deal of success against Washington and he hopes that continues knowing it’ll help Buffalo nail down a much needed win.
Even though the Bills playoff hopes are bleak, they can live for another week with a win. McCoy said while those outside the organization might be down on them it’s not going to change their approach today.
“For one this is our job,” he said. “Two is that anything is possible. We’ve got to win the game. That’s it. Each game at a time and if everything happens and works out for us that’ll be great. The only thing we can do is control what we can control and that’s winning games.”
McCoy admits he thought the team would be more successful this season, but the focus has to be compartmentalized into today’s game and today’s game only.
“I thought that we’d have a lot more wins than losses, but right now you can’t really focus on that,” he said. “We’ve got a season to finish and hopefully some things can work out for us and we’ve got to win this game right here. You can’t just look at all the other stuff that doesn’t matter. Right now the only thing that matters is the Redskins and trying to get a win.”
McCoy in his last four games against Washington has averaged 119 yards from scrimmage scoring four touchdowns while averaging four yards per carry.
