Bills presence strong at the Punt, Pass & Kick National Championship

Posted by Kelly Baker on January 1, 2016 – 1:08 pm

This Saturday, January 2 athletes from around the country will come together to take part in the 53rd annual NFL Punt, Pass & Kick National Championship, held in Indianapolis. The athletes range from 6-15 years of age, and will be placed into five different groups to compete for the title. While all participating athletes, and their attending family members, will receive complimentary tickets to the Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans game on Sunday, January 3, winners from the competition will be acknowledged during the game’s third and fourth quarters. The event will give each eager young athlete the opportunity to showcase his or her talent on a national level, while highlighting their local communities.

With 40 athletes in total, the Buffalo Bills will be represented by three individuals—an unprecedented number for the organization. The trio was selected based on each athlete’s individual performance during the Buffalo Bills Punt, Pass and Kick Team Championship, which was hosted at the ADPRO Sports Training Center on December 5. The Bills Team Championship winners include, Kyle Mitchell from the 6-7 boys group, Aiden Early from the 8-9 boys group, and Caleb Nuzzo from the 12-13 boys group.

Overall, the Bills Punt, Pass and Kick Team Championship was a huge success. Participants enjoyed a fun-filled day, complete with a special appearance from Bills safety Aaron Williams and on-field recognition at Ralph Wilson Stadium during the Bills vs. Texans game on December 6. Winners from each age division were also displayed on-screen before the game’s second quarter in front of a cheering crowd, and proud family and friends. For Kyle, Aiden and Caleb, advancing to the National Championship is no small feat, given the talent featured among the 40 athletes at the Bills Team Championship.
