Bills GM Doug Whaley gave strong indication that Buffalo’s foray into free agency to add to the roster won’t be nearly as headline grabbing as last year when they signed Tyrod Taylor, Richie Incognito, Jerome Felton, Percy Harvin and signed Charles Clay to an offer sheet. In fact Buffalo’s personnel boss said the local media might as well take off for the first week of free agency in March.
“Right now with where we are the focus on the offseason will probably be retaining most of everything we have (that’s not under contract),” said Whaley. “We have some guys coming up that we think will be core to what we need to go forward. So that will be the focus. Our free agency is going to be signing our own guys and again that’s a compliment to our scouting staff. We’ve drafted well enough where these guys are coming up and we want to retain them.”
Whaley confirmed that two of their top priorities to re-sign are Cordy Glenn and Richie Incognito.
