The Senior Bowl will air on NFL Network Saturday at 1:30 pm. One of the headliners will be North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz. Coming from an FCS school the opportunity to play against the best in the senior class was something Wentz wanted to do as soon as the invite was made.
“From the day I got the invite, I knew I wanted to play in this game,” Wentz said. “I’m a competitor, and I wanted to come out here and compete and show what I was capable of doing. The only thing was making sure I was going to be healthy. With the wrist injury in the middle of the season, I had to make sure I was healthy. But it was a no brainer.”
Wentz also said at this point it’s his plan to throw at the NFL Combine next month in Indianapolis.
“That’s the plan. We’ll see what happens,” he said. “I’ll talk to some people and make some decisions. But knowing myself, I’m going to push to do everything.”
Wentz is forecast to come off the board in the top half of round one this spring.
