With Sammy Watkins expected to spend the better part of the next 12 weeks on the sidelines rehabbing from foot surgery, starting QB Tyrod Taylor will be going through Buffalo’s offseason workouts without any reps on the field with his top receiver. Always even keeled, Taylor is not concerned with the absence of Watkins at this point.
In an appearance on the John Murphy Show, Taylor said the priority is for Watkins to get to full health. On field chemistry can come after.
“The main thing for Sammy is that he gets healthy,” said Taylor. “We know that he wants to be out there, but the main focus for him is to get healthy and be ready for training camp. We’ve been talking together and getting on the same page. We want on the field work obviously, but we’ll get that when the time comes. The main thing is that he gets healthy so he can play at the level that we know he’s capable of playing at.”
