Bills WR Sammy Watkins missed all of the spring practices due to a surgically repaired foot. Now in the rehab process Watkins’ plan is to remain in Buffalo most of the summer to stay close to the medical and athletic training staff to make sure he stays on track with everything so his foot is right come training camp and the preseason.
In a community appearance in Toronto over the weekend, Watkins was asked by TSN if he’ll be ready for training camp and Watkins talked about his plans of staying close to One Bills Drive.
“The important part is getting on the field and staying healthy,” he said. “So, basically my whole summer will be staying in Buffalo getting better.”
Watkins also plans to do a full physical assessment to maximize his performance on the field and help keep his body strong and healthy through the course of a 16-game season.
“Once I figure my body out and do the assessment I need to do, I’ll figure out what type of food, everything I need to do to keep myself on the field,” he said.
