He’s been on the Active/Non-Football Injury list since the start of training camp. Manny Lawson suffered an upper body injury in a personal workout just a few days before camp. He’ll be sidelined for a while, but according to an AP report he’ll be ready to play Week 1 of the regular season.
Lawson told the AP he has a partially torn pectoral muscle. The injury occurred when he was bench pressing during a workout. Lawson is being counted on to start at right outside linebacker in place of rookie first-round pick Shaq Lawson, who is expected to miss the first part of the regular season following surgery to repair a labrum in his shoulder.
How much practice time or preseason game time Manny Lawson sees between now and Week 1 is still undetermined.
