The thermometer at St. John Fisher had on the field temps in the mid-90’s despite the fact that it was a morning practice for the Bills on Thursday. Buffalo’s athletic training staff took additional measures to prevent players from suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration.
Head coach Rex Ryan explained part of the plan for practice.
“We added another break in there,” said Ryan. “So we had two water breaks. Compared to just the one that we normally have. And then we did have two guys come out in sweatshirts (under their jerseys), so we had to make sure we had those things were removed from those players. But we’re very mindful of it. There’s always water present. There’s all that, and we encourage our guys to drink as much as possible.”
No player on the roster succumbed to the heat in practice Thursday.
