They were injured on back-to-back plays in the second quarter Sunday. Left tackle Cordy Glenn and TE Jim Dray also sustained ankle injuries. Unfortunately for each of them they were the same ankles that kept both of them out of a good portion of training camp.
Glenn suffered an ankle injury that kept him out of three and a half weeks of action in training camp and the preseason. Dray also missed a couple of weeks of training camp practices and preseason action.
Head coach Rex Ryan confirmed that they were the same ankles for both Glenn and Dray that were injured Sunday. With a tight turnaround to Buffalo’s Week 2 game Thursday night, Buffalo’s sideline boss isn’t certain either of them will be ready for the game against the Jets.
“Not real sure about it, but he did not return after that ankle injury,” said Ryan of Glenn. “And it is the same ankle as the previous one. So we’re not real sure. I haven’t got an official report, but it was the same ankle and did not return. I believe it was the same ankle for Jim Dray too.”
During Sunday’s game Cyrus Kouandjio replaced Glenn and backup G Ryan Groy was brought on to spell Dray’s blocking role at tight end.
