Last week was a major disappointment not only because the Bills blew a 15-point second half lead, but because in the words of GM Doug Whaley they flat-lined as a team. There was no response and the body language showed it. Heads down, shoulders slumped. The Bills allowed themselves to have self-pity. Not this week.
In addition to coming up with better answers should adversity strike this week, the players also talked about keeping their chins up if something goes wrong instead of folding.
“Things, as far as body language, we need to clean that up and I think the coaches did,” said Sammy Watkins. “My body language after not getting the ball and other people’s body language after the play call we can’t have. We have to stick together and I think we all have that mentality. We all have to go out there and master this game plan and do what the coaches say. I feel like if we get put in bad situations, then get ourselves out of it. Coaches put ourselves in good spots, so we as players have to get out of them.”
