He also believes he’s proven over his career that he’s versatile and can fit any defensive system, knowing that Buffalo’s defensive scheme is expected to change… again. His agent also set the contract parameters in terms of annual salary.
Alexander’s agent Peter Schaffer told CBSSports.com’s Jason LaCanfora that he’s anticipating a wide range following Alexander’s Pro Bowl season with Buffalo.
LaCanfora quoted Alexander’s agent as saying that he expects the veteran linebacker to land “between $5 million and $10 million per year” on a short-term free agent deal.
He explained that the very wide range is due to the unique circumstance that Alexander’s age (33) and production (12.5) present.
Whether the Bills have a contract offer in mind that falls somewhere within that average annual range remains to be seen.
