Buffalo Bills Pro Bowl guard Richie Incognito has been nominated for the National Football League’s 2016 Salute to Service Award. The son of a United States Army vet, Incognito grew up with a keen understanding of what it means to be a service member. Throughout his tenure in the league, Incognito has applied the lessons he learned from his father, such as discipline and courage, to his play on the field. A proud supporter of the military, Incognito continues to take part in several initiatives.

“He’s got a great deal of admiration and respect for our military, and the people that are currently serving and people who have been in the military,” said Bills head coach Rex Ryan.

For these reasons and many more, the Bills are proud to call Richie Incognito the team’s 2016 Salute to Service Award nominee.

For Tim and his brothers, coming to Bills games is an opportunity to spend quality time with one another–especially during the tailgate.

Ellicott Hotels presented Susan Sweeney with four 2016 season tickets in the Jim Kelly Club. Susan entered the Season Ticket Giveaway contest on buffalobills.com and was randomly selected out of tens of thousands of entries.

As a two-time lymphoma survivor Susan says she does everything she possibly can with her family. That includes Bills, Sabres and Bandits games as often as possible. She plans to invite her daughters, grandchildren and husband to attend games with her.

Like all Bills fans, Susan is looking forward to Thursday Night’s home opener against the Jets in primetime. “If I’m lucky, the Bills will be lucky.”

Susan received her tickets from Ellicott Development Chairman and founder, Carl Paladino on top of The Fairmont overlooking the Buffalo Skyline. Season Ticket Member of the Game

Posted by Kelly Baker on September 13, 2016 – 4:02 pm

don-p-1

Don Pecyne, a Buffalo native, has been a valued Bills Season Ticket Member for 27 years. Since 1989, Pecyne has created many Bills memories. Still vivid in his mind, Pecyne will never forget attending his first game as a child with his father.

Although he has many, Pecyne fondly remembers two of his favorite Bills moments.

“Both were at home,” said Pecyne. “November of 1988 when the Bills beat the Jets in overtime to win their first AFC East title game since 1980. The other was on my 44th birthday actually, December 30, 1995. The Bills beat the Dolphins in the playoffs—my father was there.”

Through the years, Pecyne has enjoyed watching his all-time favorite players take the field, such as quarterback Jim Kelly and linebacker Bryce Paup. Currently, his favorite member of the team is defensive tackle Kyle Williams.

For Pecyne, attending each Bills home game gives him the opportunity to spend quality time with his family and friends. As a long-time Bills Season Ticket Member, Pecyne’s favorite thing about game day at New Era Field is the experience.

“You get to meet a lot of cool people over the years,” said Pecyne. “It’s very communal…and the game experience is great. As a Season Ticket Member you…share a lot of good memories. Going to New Era Field you sit amongst people…and for that four hour period everybody is together, as one, rooting for one common goal—a Bills victory.”

Pecyne’s favorite perks of being a Bills Season Ticket Member include, receiving a discount at The Bills Store and the Bills Bucks Card.

The Buffalo Bills would like to thank Don for his 27 years of being a loyal Bills Season Ticket Member and our first Season Ticket Member of the Game for the month of September. In addition to Don being selected as a Season Ticket Member of the Game, he received two pregame on field passes to the Bills versus Jets game on September 15th, a seat upgrade, an autographed football, and select 2016 Bills merchandise.

Darius Rucker to sing national anthem at Bills home opener

Posted by Kelly Baker on September 13, 2016 – 3:47 pm

darius-rucker

Darius Rucker, lead singer and rhythm guitarist of Hootie & the Blowfish and hit solo country artist, will sing the national anthem at Buffalo’s home opener on Thursday, September 15th at New Era Field.

Since re-introducing himself to the world as a country artist, his musical life has had a truly remarkable second act.

His newest release, “Southern Style,” sees Rucker expanding his range and pushing his limits. Rucker’s fourth solo album as a country artist, reveals a sound and a spirit that brings him closer than ever to the genre’s fundamentals. From “Homegrown Honey’s” country-girl-gone-uptown, to the back-porch party in “Dixie Cup,” the thirteen songs on “Southern Style” are filled with the instruments and images that define a region and its musical traditions.

For all of the different facets of “Southern Style,” perhaps the song that best fulfills Darius Rucker’s intentions is the bittersweet “You Can Have Charleston,” set in his beloved hometown. “That song is all about the place—the topsails and steeples,” he says. “Even though the guy in the song is leaving, you can tell how much he loves the city. It describes Charleston so well, and when you get to that chorus, it’s just unbelievable.”

The multi-platinum artist will take the field prior to kickoff, as the Bills take on division rival the New York Jets in primetime.
