Peterson just warmed up

Posted by Chris Brown on December 5, 2010 – 11:13 am

Vikings RB Adrian Peterson just finished warming up here at the Metrodome.

He was working in front of head coach Leslie Frazier and RBs coach Eric Bienemy. After doing a lot of straight line work, they asked him to run routes and see how well he could cut on his injured ankle. He looked pretty good. He spoke to Frazier and Bienemy again along with their head athletic trainer and then trotted off the field. Be shocked if he doesn’t play.

Peterson practice update

Posted by Chris Brown on December 1, 2010 – 12:44 pm

Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier isn’t expecting his Pro Bowl running back to be doing much work in practice today after he sustained an ankle injury last Sunday.

When asked about Adrian Peterson’s chances for Sunday, Frazier said that he probably would not make a final call on Peterson playing until the weekend.

“There’s a very good chance that will be the case,” Frazier said. “I don’t expect him to do very much today (Wed.) if anything. We’ll just take it day to day, but it may very well go until Sunday.”

Peterson was replaced in last week’s game by rookie Toby Gerhart, who had 22 carries for 76 yards and a score.

Peterson expected to play

Posted by Chris Brown on November 29, 2010 – 10:47 am

Vikings RB Adrian Peterson left Sunday’s game against the Redskins with an ankle injury in the first half and did not return. He’s scheduled for an MRI today (Monday), but reports indicate he’ll be available to play Sunday against the Bills.

That according to ProFootballTalk, which is reporting that Peterson should be well enough to play, despite the fact that Peterson described the pain he felt on Sunday as “unbearable.”

His replacement, rookie Toby Gerhart had his best day as a pro with 76 rushing yards and a touchdown in a Vikings win, the first for interim head coach Leslie Frazier.
