Bengals Benson limited

Posted by Chris Brown on November 18, 2010 – 4:39 pm

Cedric Benson’s foot injury was reportedly not serious as he even re-entered last week’s game after sustaining the injury. But after not practicing on Wednesday, Benson was only able to go on a limited basis Thursday.

Other starters that were limited Thursday for Cincinnati included CB Jonathan Joseph (neck) and LB Rey Maualuga (thigh).

Chad Ochocinco did not practice at all Thursday. Joining him as a spectator was DE Frostee Rucker (knee)and DT Tank Johnson (knee).

QB Carson Palmer (throwing shoulder) practiced fully after being limited on Wednesday.

Also on Thursday the Bengals put DE Jonathan Fanene on injured reserve with a severe hamstring injury. They signed DE Victor Adeyanju, who was last with the St. Louis Rams.

Bengals banged up

Posted by Chris Brown on November 17, 2010 – 4:21 pm

A few key skill position players for the Bengals either did not practice or were limited Wednesday.

On offense RB Cedric Benson (foot) did not practice. QB Carson Palmer (throwing shoulder) and WR Chad Ochocinco (shoulder) were limited in practice Wednesday.

On defense starting LCB Jonathan Joseph (neck), starting SLB Rey Maualuga (thigh), starting DT Tank Johnson (knee) and starting RDE Frostee Rucker (knee) all failed to practice Wednesday. Starting FS Chris Crocker (calf) was limited.

Cincinnati will also not see the return of their top pass rusher Antwan Odom, who has already been declared out with a wrist injury. Odom just came off a four game suspension for violation of the league’s substance abuse policy.
