Handful of starters are questionable

Posted by Chris Brown on October 10, 2014 – 1:22 pm

The Bills Friday injury status report is out following practice and Buffalo has a handful of starters who are questionable for Sunday’s game.

Most of them are on the defensive side of the ball with Kyle Williams, Aaron Williams, Da’Norris Searcy, Brandon Spikes and Nigel Bradham all questionable. They were all limited in practice throughout the week. Head coach Doug Marrone offered the following on Kyle Williams’ status, as he did do a bit more in practice today.

“We’ll go back in and talk to the medical staff and we’ll see how he feels,” said Marrone. “After getting this workout it’s a process to see where he’s at.”

On offense the only key player who is questionable is Fred Jackson with an ankle injury. He went home sick Friday, but the team says his injury status is related only to his ankle ailment.

Kyle, Bradham doubtful

Posted by Chris Brown on October 3, 2014 – 1:16 pm

injury-report-header

WR Marcus Easley and G Chris Williams were both declared out for Sunday’s game in Detroit. That means that Cyril Richardson will make his second straight start at left guard. More important is the status of two of Buffalo’s defensive starters in Kyle Williams and Nigel Bradham.

Both players were listed as doubtful. Kyle Williams was only able to work on the side, while Bradham participated on a limited basis Friday.

Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz isn’t going to fret about who he has and doesn’t have for Sunday’s game.

“I really don’t comment on injuries,” said Schwartz. “We’ll play with the guys that are there when we make our active 46. We’ll have to come out with a win regardless of who is out there. It’s not unusual for us. We’ve done it since the opener. We didn’t have (Stephon) Gilmore in the opener and Corey Graham stepped up and had an interception in the game and had a pass breakup in overtime and on the last drive of the game. It set us up to get that win. If somebody isn’t able to play you expect the next guy to step up and execute our scheme.”

Here’s the rest of Buffalo’s injury report.

OUT
Marcus Easley – knee
Chris Williams – back

DOUBTFUL
Kyle Williams – knee
Nigel Bradham – knee

PROBABLE

There were a couple of changes on Buffalo’s Thursday injury report concerning a pair of starters on offense.

WR Robert Woods, who was limited Wednesday after sustaining an ankle injury, did not practice at all Thursday.

“Right now he wouldn’t be able to play,” said head coach Doug Marrone.

Meanwhile starting LG Chris Williams was limited in practice with a back ailment listed, but Marrone said it was a proactive precautionary move, not a reactionary move to an injury.

“He went throughout the practice we just watched his reps,” said Marrone.
