Mario could miss more than this week

Posted by Chris Brown on November 27, 2015 – 1:09 pm

It came as no surprise. Marcus Easley, John Miller, Kyle Williams and Mario Williams were all unable to practice this week and come Friday all four were declared out for Sunday’s game at Kansas City.

Head coach Rex Ryan confirmed their playing status following practice Friday. Ryan also said that Mario Williams could miss more than this week with his foot injury.

“That’s a possibility, but the good news is (Mario’s injury) is not a season ending one,” said Ryan. “Could he possibly miss another week? Yes, it’s a possibility, but we hope not and we’re doing everything we can to get him back.”

Richie Incognito questionable for Monday

Posted by Chris Brown on November 21, 2015 – 4:07 pm

The Bills have been a relatively healthy group up on their offensive line. Entering Monday night’s game against the Patriots their most consistent offensive lineman is questionable.

Guard Richie Incognito is questionable with a shoulder injury sustained in practice this week. He was limited in practice Friday and limited against on Saturday. If Incognito can’t go Kraig Urbik would step in at guard Monday night.

Meanwhile Leodis McKelvin and Karlos Williams were both removed from the injury report. Both practiced fully on Saturday as they each returned from illness.

Bills DB Leodis McKelvin missed a second straight day of practice due to illness and Karlos Williams also fell victim to illness at practice on Friday and was limited. But head coach Rex Ryan doesn’t see it affecting either players’ chance of playing against New England Monday night in Foxborough.

“I expect him to play,” said Ryan of McKelvin. “Same thing with Karlos.”

With the game on Monday night both McKelvin and Karlos Williams have the benefit of an extra day to prepare for the game. Here’s the updated injury report for Friday. Player status for the game will be posted Saturday with the game being on Monday night.

Bills could have issue at tackle Thursday

Posted by Chris Brown on November 11, 2015 – 1:31 pm

The good news is on Buffalo’s final injury report LeSean McCoy, Sammy Watkins and Mario Williams are all listed as probable. The bad news is the Bills could be shorthanded at offensive tackle.

Both RT Seantrel Henderson and OT Cyrus Kouandjio are both listed as questionable. Henderson has an illness and Kouandjio has a knee injury that kept him out of last week’s game.

If both are unable to play Jordan Mills would have to start at right tackle, and he and Cordy Glenn would be the only true healthy tackles on the roster.

The Bills are getting a number of players back from injury this week, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. On defense it looks like Corey Graham’s groin injury won’t keep him from playing. The veteran defensive back and DE Mario Williams, who suffered a minor knee injury in practice this week, is probable and expected to play.

Graham and Watkins question marks for Sunday

Posted by Chris Brown on November 5, 2015 – 3:30 pm

The Bills are a good deal healthier coming out of the bye week, but it still looks as though they’ll be without DT Kyle Williams and WR Percy Harvin. Both did not practice for a second straight day and neither are expected to play Sunday.

Head coach Rex Ryan when asked if it’s safe to assume that Harvin won’t face the Dolphins said that he probably will not play. Question marks for Sunday’s game include S Corey Graham and WR Sammy Watkins. Both were limited on Thursday.

Ryan said he’s “hopeful” that Watkins can play against the Dolphins.

Mario Williams is a new addition to the injury report this week, but Ryan said he’s not concerned about Williams availability on Sunday.

Easley questionable, McCoy, Graham probable

Posted by Chris Brown on October 23, 2015 – 6:36 pm

There will be seven players not available to play Sunday for the Bills. Six of them are starters and five of those six play on the offensive side of the ball. The good news is LeSean McCoy came through another week of practice no worse for the wear and is probable, as is Corey Graham who had a minor groin problem.

Marcus Easley is the team’s fourth receiver with three others lost to injury and other circumstances this week. Easley is questionable, but head coach Rex Ryan said the special teams ace will be fine for Sunday’s game.

Taylor, Easley, Graham limited

Posted by Chris Brown on October 21, 2015 – 4:38 pm

The Bills four absent players were obviously non-participants at practice Wednesday, but there were three limited players for Buffalo.

Tyrod Taylor, who split reps with EJ Manuel at quarterback in practice was limited as was Marcus Easley, as he returns from a shoulder injury and Corey Graham who was limited with a groin injury.

Taylor is encouraged by the improvement his knee has made since last week. He and the athletic trainers have worked closely to keep tabs on how his injured knee is holding up to an increased workload this week compared to last week.

“No, we’re in good conversation with how I feel where we’re constantly talking to the trainers,” Taylor said. “Getting feedback from them. At the end of the day it’s up to the coaches to make the decision. I’m not really focusing on that part, just more so mentally getting ready for Jacksonville and the preparation that it takes.”

When asked if he was doing significantly more in practice this week, Taylor said that he was.

The Bills won’t have Karlos Williams on Sunday, but stand a good chance of having RB LeSean McCoy back in the lineup. Meanwhile Percy Harvin, Tyrod Taylor and Sammy Watkins are all questionable for Sunday’s game.

All three were limited in Friday’s practice. Harvin, who normally gets a veteran rest day on Wednesday, was unexpectedly limited Friday so he was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. Head coach Rex Ryan did not shed any light on Harvin’s condition.

Ryan did say that Taylor would be a game time decision, and did not say anything about Watkins other than he’s questionable.

It was good news that both LeSean McCoy and Sammy Watkins were both practicing, but both were limited on Wednesday along with five other starters including QB Tyrod Taylor. Watkins however, is very optimistic about returning to the lineup on Sunday.

“High chance that I’ll be out there,” said Watkins. “I just have to keep getting treatment and going out there and putting in work every day.”

Watkins says getting a lot of reps will be the key this week as he tries to build the necessary endurance back into his injured calf so it can go 50-60 plays on Sunday.

McCoy was limited, but head coach Rex Ryan wants to take his progress in his return from a hamstring day by day.

McCoy, Karlos out for Sunday

Posted by Chris Brown on October 9, 2015 – 1:38 pm

It looks like Boobie Dixon will make his second career start Sunday when the Bills play the Titans in Tennessee. Dixon’s only other career start came in the 2013 season finale when he was with the 49ers and he lined up as a fullback in front of Frank Gore. LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams have both been declared out for Sunday’s game.

Head coach Rex Ryan however, doesn’t believe Williams will be out of the lineup for a prolonged period of time.

“No, I know he’s feeling better and all that, but you go through the protocol and things, but no I don’t think so,” Ryan said.

S Bacarri Rambo is also out for Sunday’s game, but the good news is Aaron Williams is probable and expected to start in his return from a neck injury. Here’s the rest of the Bills injury report.

RB Karlos Williams – concussion

Clay added to injury report

The Bills have more than their share of players on the injury report. On Thursday another starter on offense was added in TE Charles Clay.

Clay was added to the team’s injury report with a calf ailment, but head coach Rex Ryan dismissed it as insignificant.

“Yeah, it was just a little thing,” said Ryan. “We just put him as limited because I took him out. We had him out for a couple of plays. He’s fine.”

A host of other Bills starters were limited including LT Cordy Glenn, DT Kyle Williams, S Aaron Williams, S Corey Graham and G John Miller.

Karlos, McCoy, Watkins head non-practice list

Buffalo’s running back position was the lead position group on Buffalo’s injury list of non-participants. Both LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Karlos Williams (concussion) did not practice Wednesday. Head coach Rex Ryan hasn’t ruled Watkins out for Sunday’s game yet.

“Sammy didn’t practice today, but that doesn’t mean that he won’t be available Sunday,” said Ryan. “We’ll see how it goes, how this week progresses.”

Veterans Kyle Williams and Percy Harvin sat out for what’s believed to be veteran rest days. Harvin has not practiced on a Wednesday all season.

OL John Miller returned to practice for the first time since his groin injury suffered in Miami in Week 3 and he was limited. LT Cordy Glenn was also limited with an ankle injury that forced him out of last week’s game for about a quarter before he returned.

They didn’t practice all week so their chances of playing were slim. After practice head coach Rex Ryan made it official. Four of his starters will be out for Sunday’s game against the Giants.

RB LeSean McCoy and WR Sammy Watkins headlined the list of players who will be sidelined. Also out are RG John Miller, S Aaron Williams and WR Marquise Goodwin.

Williams and Goodwin were able to practice on a limited basis during the week.

Probable for Buffalo Sunday are K Dan Carpenter, WR Percy Harvin, LB Preston Brown and QB Tyrod Taylor.
