Inside The Bills

An encouraging sign for Sunday

Posted by Chris Brown on December 15, 2015 – 5:17 pm

We’ll get into more depth later this week about how Washington is a much better team at home this season than on the road, which will present its own set of challenges for the Bills. But if history is any indicator there is one encouraging statistic concerning Buffalo’s opponent on Sunday that appears to weigh in the Bills favor.

Obviously this season is Washington’s second time in which they face the AFC East on the rotational NFL schedule for interconference division play. The last time they played the AFC they went 0-for. This season they lost to Miami by a touchdown (17-10), the Jets by two touchdowns (34-20) and the Patriots by 17 (27-10). Buffalo is obviously hoping Washington’s unique struggle continues.

Bills ‘D’ had sack party vs. Skins

Posted by Chris Brown on August 9, 2012 – 3:54 pm

Buffalo’s pass rush has been fortified this offseason with some big pass rush additions in Mario Williams and Mark Anderson along with a healthy Shawne Merriman. But the Bills pass rush had a great day against the Redskins in Week 8 last year with 10 sacks.

Marcell Dareus led the way with 2.5 in the game as John Beck spent most of the afternoon running for his life. Here’s a recap to watch.

Bills ‘O’ rolled vs. Skins in ’11

Posted by Chris Brown on August 9, 2012 – 1:39 pm

Buffalo’s offense is expected to be pretty vanilla in their preseason opener against the Redskins tonight with kickoff coming at 7 pm. But in their Week 8 matchup last year the Bills attack was pretty darn effective.

Facing Jim Haslett’s 3-4 defensive front Buffalo rumbled for 138 yards in 33 carries (4.2 avg.).

Fred Jackson had 194 total yards in the game.

Ryan Fitzpatrick was a sizzling 21-27 passing (77.8%) for 262 yards a pair of touchdowns and an INT. His receivers averaged 12.5 yards per catch with Scott Chandler registering both touchdowns through the air.

The Bills offense converted 7-14 third down opportunities and rolled up 390 total net yards.
