It’s already a great class for defensive tackles in the 2010 draft, but a UCLA DT just made it better.
Junior Brian Price, who wreaks havoc on the field, just declared himself eligible for the draft. At 6’2″ 300 pounds he’s so low to the ground that he’s difficult to move and the guy gets consistent penetration and makes plays as evidenced by his seven sacks this past season and 23 1/2 tackles for loss.
He’s widely considered the third best DT prospect behind Ndamakong Suh and Gerald McCoy. Mel Kiper has Price 10th on his Big Board, which would make him available to the Bills at 9.
I realize that offensive tackle and QB are more pressing positions, but I don’t know if there’s a QB worthy of the 9th pick overall. Price could be a worthwhile option.
I think DT is close third behind OT and QB for Buffalo, and you’ve got to get your big men early. Draft is a long way off. We’ll see.
