Brady on replacing Edelman

Posted by Chris Brown on November 18, 2015 – 1:50 pm

With the Patriots losing WR Julian Edelman indefinitely to a broken foot, most expect Danny Amendola to fill Edelman’s role in the slot this week against the Bills. New England QB Tom Brady however, believes that even though Amendola is in his third season with the Patriots he won’t be able to duplicate everything that Edelman does right away.

“I think when you’ve had that quality of player go down, you definitely have to adjust,” said Brady. “So I would say it’s football season, and a lot of teams go through similar things, [losing] certain players that are really critical. You just have to figure out a way to kind of keep producing and scoring points.

“It may be different than the way that it’s been. You wish you could just plug someone else in, but that’s, you know, it’s impossible to plug in those … Julian Edelmans just aren’t sitting out on the street or else they’d be playing for another team, but the guys who are going to be in there, we’ll have confidence in the things that they can do well. And I think the expectations are still the same. We expect to go out there and score points every time we touch the ball, and it may take a little different shape. You just have to rely on some different things that are a part of your offense and just do the best you can do.”

Buffalo’s defense doesn’t expect much to change with the Patriots attack despite the fact that New England has lost their feature back and top receiver in the last two games.

Gronk doubtful, Amendola probable

Posted by Chris Brown on September 6, 2013 – 5:48 pm

As expected it’s not looking good for Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski to be suited up to play against his hometown team on Sunday. Receiver Danny Amendola however, looks ready to go.

Gronkowski, who just returned to practice coming off of offseason back surgery was limited all week and is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Bills.

Meanwhile, Amendola, widely viewed as the replacement for the departed Wes Welker, is probably coming off a groin injury. He participated fully in practice Friday.

RB Brandon Bolden (knee), WR Aaron Dobson (hamstring), DB Nate Ebner (ankle) and DB Duron Harmon (hamstring) are all questionable for Sunday’s game.

WR Amendola a game time decision

Posted by Chris Brown on December 7, 2012 – 5:07 pm

The Rams top receiver is truly 50-50 for Sunday’s game against the Bills in Buffalo.

That according to St. Louis head coach Jeff Fisher.

After Friday’s practice, Fisher told St. Louis reporters the following about Amendola’s availability for Sunday’s game.

“He was limited practice today and a little better than he was yesterday,” Fisher said. “I’m sure he’ll be a game time decision.”

Amendola is dealing with a foot injury and is listed as questionable. LB Mario Haggan (elbow) is also questionable.

TE Mike McNeill (thigh) is out.

RB Steven Jackson (foot) and starting C Scott Wells (knee) are listed as probable after both participated fully on Friday.
