Arian Foster closer to full return for Miami

Posted by Chris Brown on October 20, 2016 – 3:43 pm

Miami RB Arian Foster saw his first action last week since Week 2 due to a hamstring injury. He only had three carries for three years in the win against Pittsburgh, but Foster is expected to have a bit more of a role this week against the Bills.

Foster was a full participant in practice both Wednesday and Thursday.

“It’s more of a mental thing at this point with this injury,” said Foster. “It’s still a little physically limited, but in order to gain confidence it’s something you have to do. You have to be repetitive on it. You have to keep getting reps on it in order to build that strength back at football speed, because you can do anything you want in the training room, but it’s not going to emulate football speed.”

He and Jay Ajayi are expected to handle the bulk of the rushing load for Miami.

Dolphins injury report

Posted by Chris Brown on October 19, 2016 – 3:46 pm

The Miami Dolphins have been without TE Jordan Cameron and Dion Sims due to concussions. They’ve also not had rookie CB Xavien Howard due to a knee injury. It looks like Pro Bowl S Reshad Jones is not only out for this week, but likely the season with a torn rotator cuff.

That according to Miami head coach Adam Gase.

“Yes, he will be out,” said Gase of Jones. “We won’t get him back this season. It’s a big impact. Any time you’ve got a Pro Bowl player and you lose a guy … the leadership that he has brought for us has been something that I’ve asked of him about him speaking up on certain things and becoming more of a vocal leader, which was something that was outside of what he had really done in the past. But he embraced that role and has really done a great job as far as leading on and off the field. The thing we have to do now is we have to step up. Guys have got to move into some positions here that they need to make some plays and we’ve got to play great team defense.”

Here’s the rest of the Dolphins injury report.

Miami starting RB, LT & TE do not practice

Posted by Chris Brown on September 23, 2015 – 3:50 pm

UBNS imageThe Dolphins are a beat up bunch coming off their Week 2 loss to Jacksonville. DE Cameron Wake left the game early as his hamstring injury was still bothering him. He lasted just 15 plays. Starting LT Branden Albert left the game with a hamstring injury as well. TE Jordan Cameron exited with a groin injury and RB Lamar Miller sustained an ankle injury and didn’t finish the game. On Wednesday three of those four didn’t practice.

Albert, Cameron and Miller were all non-participants for the Dolphins Wednesday. Wake was limited.

The Dolphins could be really shorthanded at the tight end position with their top two TEs on the injury report. Dion Sims, who is trying to return from a concussion was limited Wednesday.

Miami CB doesn’t practice

Posted by Chris Brown on November 11, 2014 – 4:27 pm

He left Sunday’s game in Detroit with an ankle injury and did not return for the Dolphins. Miami starting CB Cortland Finnegan was unable to practice on Tuesday and is becoming a big question mark for the Dolphins’ defense.

If Finnegan can’t go Jamar Taylor is expected to step in for him and he was a target of Matthew Stafford last week after he entered the game. Taylor would likely draw Robert Woods as an assignment, which would appear to give Buffalo an advantage in that particular matchup.

A host of other Dolphins’ players were limited on Tuesday including starting QB Ryan Tannehill and starting RB Lamar Miller.

Player Pos Injury Participation Tuesday
Daryn Colledge G Back DNP
Cortland Finnegan CB Ankle DNP

Miami RB Thomas questionable

Posted by Chris Brown on December 20, 2013 – 2:38 pm

It appears as though the Dolphins will have their starting cornerbacks back in the lineup Sunday against the Bills in Brent Grimes and Nolan Carroll, who are both probable, but the news is different for RB Daniel Thomas.

Thomas is listed as questionable after practicing on a limited basis Friday. He failed to practice at all on Wednesday and Thursday. Starting DT Paul Soliai is listed as probable despite practicing only on a limited basis all week due to an ankle injury.

Long snapper John Denney missed Friday’s practice due to illnes, but is probable. Here’s the rest of the Dolphins injury report for Sunday’s game.

Miami WR Gibson added as questionable

Posted by Chris Brown on October 18, 2013 – 2:32 pm

The Dolphins look like they’re likely to be without MLB Dannell Ellerbe with a shoulder injury. He’s listed as doubtful. The surprise was WR Brandon Gibson, who was a late add this week to the injury report.

Gibson was limited in practice Friday after sustaining a hip injury. He’s listed as questionable for Sunday. Gibson is second on the team in receptions and third in receiving yards. He’s their primary slot receivers and 15 of his 24 catches have gone for first downs this season. Here’s the rest of the Dolphins injury report for Sunday’s game with Buffalo.

Dolphins WRs still hobbled

Posted by Chris Brown on December 20, 2012 – 5:34 pm

Dolphins leading receiver Brian Hartline was limited in practice Wednesday with a back problem, but he wasn’t able to practice Thursday joining fellow receiver Davone Bess, Miami’s number two wideout.

Bess is also dealing with a back injury and did not practice for a second straight day Thursday. If neither are able to play the Dolphins would be going with Marlon Moore and Armon Binns. Binns has appeared in just one game for the Dolphins this season while Moore has just six catches and a touchdown in 12 games for Miami this season.

Here’s the rest of Miam’s injury report.

Long, Moore not full go

Posted by Chris Brown on December 15, 2011 – 4:31 pm

Dolphins Pro Bowl LT Jake Long and starting QB Matt Moore both returned to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s session, but neither of them were full go.

Long and Moore were both limited on Thursday leaving a small measure of doubt about their availability on Sunday. Most observers believe that both will start on Sunday against the Bills barring a setback.

Starting SLB Koa Misi however, did not practice for a second straight day with a shoulder injury putting his availability Sunday in doubt.

Also limited for the Dolphins on Thursday were S Yeremiah Bell (foot), G Vernon Carey (ankle) and TE Anthony Fasano (ribs).

Dolphins injury report

Posted by Chris Brown on September 8, 2010 – 4:44 pm

Here’s the list of injured Dolphins for Week 1.

Did not practice
LB Channing Crowder (groin)

Limited participation
LT Jake Long (knee)

Full participation
C Jake Grove (shoulder)

Crowder hasn’t practiced since Aug. 17 due to a lower abdominal injury, so his status is very much up in the air for Sunday’s game. Most reports out of south Florida are indicating that Long should be able to play in the opener provided he practices more extensively Thursday.
