Browns tip hat to Bills
Posted by on December 13, 2010 – 12:31 amThe Bills made some big plays late to preserve a 13-6 win over the Browns Sunday, and Cleveland’s players gave them all the credit.
“It looked like everything was going our way in the beginning, and it just changed up a little bit,” said CB Joe Haden. ”They started making plays and you’ve got to give them all the credit. They did what they had to do.”
“It’s a disappointment,” said WR Chansi Stuckey. ”We came down here, they were obviously more ready to play than we were.”
Browns head coach Eric Mangini was asked about third down problems on offense and he too credited the Bills play as Cleveland converted just 2-10 on third downs.
“Not being as effective as we need to be on third down, that stalled some drives,” Mangini said. ”I give [Buffalo] a whole lot of credit. I think they played really well.”
Sunday’s win was the first over the Browns in their last four meetings. The two teams have faced each other each of the last four seasons.

Browns starting QB up in air
Posted by on December 8, 2010 – 1:00 pmCleveland head coach Eric Mangini has had veteran Jake Delhomme start at quarterback the past two games while Colt McCoy has been trying to recover from a high ankle sprain suffered Nov. 21st against Jacksonville.
Mangini however, is not ruling McCoy out yet for this week’s game against the Bills.
“Colt worked more yesterday and that looked pretty positive so I’m hoping he’s going to be able to practice at some point this week,” said Mangini. ”We’ll just have to see. Each week we get closer and he definitely made some strides from last week and where he is now.”
If McCoy cannot play this week, Delhomme would make his third straight start and fourth of the season.

Browns’ Braylon Edwards accused of assault
Posted by on October 5, 2009 – 6:17 pmAccording to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Browns WR Braylon Edwards has been accused of assault after an alleged altercation outside a Cleveland nightclub in the wee hours of this morning.
The Plain Dealer reports that police broke up the argument, which reportedly left the accuser with a black eye and a cut that he says was a result of Edwards punching him. No word at this point as to whether this will affect his availability for Sunday’s game against the Bills, or whether he could face any disciplinary action from the team. But Browns head coach Eric Mangini is known for running a pretty tight ship.
