Lynch questionable

Posted by Chris Brown on December 26, 2008 – 5:19 pm

Marshawn Lynch is questionable for Sunday’s season finale. He only practiced on Thursday this week. Dick Jauron says he feels about the same as he did last week with Lynch’s chances of playing.

Kawika Mitchell is also questionable, but is expected to play after practicing the past two days.

Jason Peters and Roscoe Parrish are doubtful. Jauron said Peters hasn’t gotten worse, but both players are not expected to play.

Jabari Greer is out. Teddy Lehman is doubtful despite practicing Friday.

Donte Whitner practiced fully Thursday as did Josh Reed and Marcus Stroud, who also did not practice Wednesday.

Jabari Greer was limited and did not do as much as he did on Wednesday, but Dick Jauron said he has an “outside chance” of playing Sunday.

Trent Edwards did not practice at all as well as Aaron Schobel and Dustin Fox. Trent did a little light tossing at the beginning of practice, but it was not within the scope of practice. It was on the side.

Injury update

Trent Edwards remains day-to-day with the groin injury. Dick Jauron did not say how much a quarterback would need to practice during the week to still be considered a viable option for a game, but that he would need to practice “some.”

J.P. Losman took all the first team reps. For more info check out Bills Roundup by clicking on the Media Lounge tab at the home page of later this afternoon.

Not practicing were Jabari Greer (knee), Robert Royal (hamstring), Chris Ellis (ankle) and Chris Kelsay was excused for personal reasons. He’s expected to be back at practice Thursday. Copeland Bryan (foot) and Teddy Lehman (hamstring) were limited.

Practice went pretty well for Aaron Schobel and Donte Whitner as both got reps with the first unit on defense. Both Schobel and Whitner practiced fully. Whitner was used as both the nickel corner and at free safety in the base package.

Schobel told me he plans to practice again on Thursday, but wouldn’t call himself a sure thing for Sunday. But Schobel did say he won’t need surgery on his ailing foot, which is very good news. Whitner indicated he should be ready for Sunday’s game.

Josh Reed was limited so he did not practice fully coming off his ankle injury. He was not available in the locker room for comment.

Jabari Greer and Bryan Scott both have knee injuries. Greer called his knee injury a “tweak” while coach Jauron called it a “sprain.” Those two defensive backs as well as Donte Whitner did not practice.

Aaron Schobel (foot) and Marcus Buggs (ankle) were also no-gos.

Out for Buffalo on Sunday are G Brad Butler, WR Josh Reed, DE Aaron Schobel, S Donte Whitner and CB Ashton Youboty.

Questionable for Sunday are G Jason Whittle and LB Kawika Mitchell. Both practiced on a limited basis throughout the week. Dick Jauron wouldn’t elaborate on the likelihood of them playing on Sunday.

Odds are that Kirk Chambers will play right guard on Sunday. We’ll have more details on that on the home page later this afternoon.
