Jags could be down a LB
Posted by on October 8, 2010 – 8:39 amThe Jaguars could be missing one of their starting LBs for Sunday’s game.
OLB Justin Durant (ankle) did not practice on Thursday after participating on limited basis on Wednesday. What he can or cannot do in practice today (Friday) will go a long way in determining his status for this weekend’s game at Ralph Wilson Stadium. If he can’t go Eric Alexander is expected to step in for him.
Maurice Jones-Drew (ankle) who did not practice Wednesday practiced fully Thursday and is expected to play.
His backup RB Rashad Jennings (shoulder) however has been limited in practice all week and is likely to be questionable for the game Sunday.
Starting FS Sean Considine (hamstring) has also been limited in practice all week and figures to be questionable for Sunday’s game too. The same goes for starting LG Justin Smiley (ankle) who has been limited in practice all week.

Jones-Drew doesn’t practice
Posted by on October 6, 2010 – 3:58 pmThe Jaguars injury report is not lengthy, but they could be a bit shorthanded at running back.
Starting RB Maurice Jones-Drew (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, but it appears to be just a way of giving their feature back an extra day of rest.
“He was very physical in the effort that he provided us on Sunday,” said Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio. ”He’s a little banged up right now, and we rested him (Wednesday). But he’s a proud young man and he brings it for us and plays with great energy and great emotion on Sundays. He’s one of the guys that we count on.”
What makes the depth at running back a little dicey for Jacksonville is backup RB Rashad Jennings is dealing with a shoulder injury that had him limited in practice Wednesday. If Jennings can’t go it would leave Jacksonville with rookie Deji Karim behind Jones-Drew, who is still expected to play. FB Greg Jones could also get some carries in such a scenario.
Also limited in practice Wednesday for Jacksonville was starting FS Sean Considine (hamstring), starting OLB Justin Durant (ankle) and starting LG Justin Smiley (ankle).
