Bills show interest in Rutgers RB

The running back prospects don’t hit the field at the combine until Sunday, but they’re already making an impression in the team meeting rooms.

Rutgers RB Jawan Jamison spent some time with the Bills during the night time meetings this week. The 5-7, 203 pound back is considered a solid mid-round prospect.

Jamison told reporters at the combine he met with the Bills, along with the Broncos, Panthers, Redskins, Eagles, Panthers, and other teams.

“They just want to figure out what I know and get my background,” said Jamison, who added he likes the sessions with coaches and scouts. “It’s not hard at all. I like talking to people, and I want them to get to know me, because I want to be picked up by one of them. It’s not hard at all, it’s fun.”

Jamison left Rutgers with two years of eligibility left. Over the last two years, he ran for 1900 yards and 13 TDs for the Scarlet Knights, and also caught 36 passes. NFL Draft Scout.com describes his style as a “slippery brand of tough running and reliable receiving.” And Jamison has been compared to Ravens RB Ray Rice, another Rutgers product, without the speed and shiftiness.

“My biggest strengths would be my vision, my burst, my quickness and my balance, along with my ability to break tackles and make the first person miss, and not go down so easy. To hit the holes once I find them.”
