Report: Porter draws Bills interest
Posted by on March 8, 2010 – 9:27 amWith a tie to the Dolphins it’s not surprising that the Bills have reached out to former Miami LB Joey Porter.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported first that Porter has an interview set up with the Arizona Cardinals and may also interview with the Bills.
Schefter does indicate however, that with his family based in California and having a special needs child, Arizona offers more convenient travel to spend more time with his family.
Porter’s ties to the Bills comes from defensive coordinator George Edwards, who coached linebackers in Miami.

Report: Fins cutting Porter
Posted by on February 12, 2010 – 3:43 pmThe Dolphins have cut LB Joey Porter today (Friday).
Glazer first made the report on his twitter account.
Jay_Glazer joey porter is getting his wish. i’m reporting on foxsports.com that the fins are releasing him today.
The Dolphins have since made the announcement of Porter’s release official.
Don’t know how much Porter has left in the tank, but one person that would know for sure is Bills defensive coordinator George Edwards who coached Dolphins linebackers the past five seasons.

Porter inactive
Posted by on October 4, 2009 – 7:10 pmThe Bills have caught a bit of a break today as LB Joey Porter is inactive for today’s game with his hamstring injury.
He’ll be replaced by 6-yr vet Charlie Anderson, who in 2 games against the Bills last season had a safety, a sack and 2 forced fumbles.

Dolphins LB Porter questionable
Posted by on October 2, 2009 – 6:11 pmDolphins LB Joey Porter did not practice for a third straight day and is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.
He was in a similar situation last week and still gave the Dolphins 25 plays on defense against Chargers.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Porter dresses for the game and is used strictly in passing situations.

Sparano has faith in Porter despite hamstring injury
Posted by on October 2, 2009 – 1:31 pmDolphins LB Joey Porter has been unable to practice the past two days, though he’s been working on the side with trainers. But Miami head coach Tony Sparano knows that Porter is no ordinary injured player.
Last week Porter was listed as doubtful with that same hamstring injury and barely practiced, but he started against San Diego and gave the Dolphins 25 plays before his hamstring tightened up again. Porter looks to be in the same boat this week.
As to whether he’ll play Sunday against the Bills, Sparano would not say, but it’s clear he has faith that Porter will be able to give them something this weekend.
“We’ll see. I’m not sure,” said Sparano. “We had one of those last week at the end of the whole thing, we got a bunch of good plays out of Joey Porter. Joey’s that way, he’s never going to miss a game, and he’s never going to want to do any of those kinds of things. He’s going to want to play. We’ll see, I always give him the benefit of the doubt because I know what he does at the games.”
Porter is one of those players that refuses to let an injury force him to do anything. It’s why he’s missed just six games in his 11-year career.

Dolphins Porter doesn’t practice again
Posted by on October 1, 2009 – 7:01 pmDolphins LB Joey Porter did not practice again on Thursday.
Porter has been dealing with a hamstring injury, though he did play in last week’s game for about 25 plays.
If he can’t go on Sunday he’ll be replaced by Charlie Anderson a six-year vet formerly of Houston.
Some Bills fans might be asking about Cameron Wake, the CFL product, that Miami signed. Wake is currently seeing most of his playing time on special teams.

Dolphins injury report short
Posted by on September 30, 2009 – 8:04 pmChad Pennington might be on injured reserve, but beyond him the Dolphins are a pretty healthy group.
LB Joey Porter is the only player listed on this week’s injury report for Miami. He did not practice Wednesday.
Head coach Tony Sparano offered the following on his top pass rusher Monday after the loss to San Diego.
“Joey gave us about 24, 25 plays in there (Sunday), some really solid plays,” said Sparano. “Just there at the end, it tightened back up again. We will take a good look at him. He’s a little bit sore.”

Pennington injures throwing shoulder
Posted by on September 28, 2009 – 1:44 amThe Bills travel to Miami in Week 4 and may face the Dolphins other Chad (Henne) at quarterback after Chad Pennington left Sunday’s game with a right shoulder injury.
Pennington has had two surgeries on his throwing shoulder for an injured rotator cuff. What lies ahead for the veteran QB remains to be seen, but he left Sunday’s game against the Chargers.
Joey Porter is also nursing a hamstring injury so the Bills aren’t the only team that figures to be shorthanded this coming Sunday.
