EJ Manuel said he was taking no days off in the six weeks between June minicamp and training camp. Here’s what he focused on the most with respect to his game so he’d be ready for the first practice Sunday night and beyond.
“I think the biggest thing was just continue to go over the drops and things like that that we were working on during OTAs. I’ve got that done so I’m looking forward to playing on Sundays,” he said.
Manuel worked with his personal quarterbacks coach Ken Mastrole at times during the past six weeks and explained where their efforts were channeled.
“Just some more footwork. I pretty much explained my offense and what we’re doing here to him. So obviously that helps when you’re teaching it to somebody else. Also we watched a lot of film together too.
“Ken and I we just get along very well and we built that relationship up through the pre-draft process. He’s a guy I’m going to continue to work with throughout my career.”
