Kyle Wilson and the Jets wound up with the win, but Stevie Johnson was clearly under Wilson’s skin. So much so that Wilson got flagged for three penalties on one drive and was taken off the field by Jets coaches.
On a 3rd-and-6 on the Bills lone touchdown drive Wilson gave the Bills a first down with illegal contact while covering Johnson.
On the next play from scrimmage, Wilson was flagged for a personal foul penalty and then gave up a 14-yard reception to Johnson where he committed a questionable personal foul for another 15-yard walk off. At that point Wilson was pulled from the lineup to cool off.
Johnson meanwhile was only flagged for taunting Wilson, but in the end didn’t make much of their confrontation.
“It was just guys playing football,” said Johnson. “We were just out there competing. He’s a Jets player, I’m a Bills player. It’s that bad blood. They walk around like they are bigger than us and we are not going to have that. We were just playing football. It was nothing personal. We were just playing football.”
