He made this pick for the Bills in his first mock draft, and in his second mock draft, ESPN NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. again went quarterback for Buffalo’s pick at 10.
Kiper again selected Clemson QB DeShaun Watson for Buffalo at 10th overall. Here was his revised reasoning.
10. Buffalo Bills – 7-9
DeShaun Watson, QB, Clemson
This is obviously based on the idea that Tyrod Taylor would be playing somewhere else. We’ll be able to say that definitively, one way or the other, in March. If there’s a big question here, it’s whether Watson is any more ready to start in year one than a quarterback who’s currently on the roster. I think the Bills will go a different direction if they’re able to bring in a veteran QB in March.
Kiper has just two quarterbacks going in round one with North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky going second overall to San Francisco, just like he did in Kiper’s first mock too.
