LB Shawne Merriman (achilles) is not in attendance and OL Cordaro Howard (shoulder) is riding the stationary bike.

We’ll get an update on status for Sunday’s game after practice from head coach Chan Gailey, though he did rule Merriman out for Sunday’s game on Thursday.

Practice update

It’s not looking good for one of Buffalo’s linebackers to be on the field Sunday in Toronto.

LB Andra Davis (shoulder) is not practicing for a third straight day this week and is unlikely to play against the Bears.

Everyone else on the roster was practicing, except for Shawne Merriman of course, who has yet to arrive.

Head coach Chan Gailey will provide an update on player availability for Sunday after practice.

All three offensive linemen that did not practice Wednesday (Bell, Howard, Wood) are back practicing.

Linemen missing

The Bills have four offensive linemen not practicing here on Wednesday.

Cornell Green, Demetrius Bell, Cordaro Howard and Eric Wood are not practicing.

Bell and Wood are likely getting an extra day of rest coming off another long overtime game.

Green has been out with a knee injury.

Howard seems to be the only unanswered non-participant.

CB Terrence McGee is looking like a long shot to play on Sunday.

McGee is practicing for a third straight day, but is limited in his return from a nerve problem that ran from lower back down his leg.

Head coach Chan Gailey will provide his official status for Sunday after practice.

OT Cornell Green is the only non-participant.

Terrence McGee (back) was practicing for the second straight day, but again appears limited. Demetrius Bell and Jairus Byrd are back practicing after missing Wednesday’s action. Bell looks to be full go, Byrd limited.

Keith Ellison was practicing again. He was limited on Wednesday.

Not practicing

The two Bills players that have not practiced all week are not on the field again here on Friday.

OT Cornell Green, who was expected to miss a couple of games, looks as though he’ll miss the Baltimore game for sure, with rookie Cordaro Howard stepping in for him.

CB Terrence McGee is working on the side with athletic trainers, but is not expected to play either this Sunday. Leodis McKelvin is expected to start in his absence.

DT Kyle Williams is working with athletic trainers on the side and is moving well, but will not be participating with his teammates in practice for a second straight day.

Practice update

Just two players not participating in practice Wednesday.

Terrence McGee and Cornell Green are not participating in practice. S Jon Corto is practicing with his teammates, but remains on Reserve/PUP. The team has until Nov. 8th to decide on when or whether to elevate Corto to the active roster.

“I can only control what I can control,” said Corto of the decision facing the coaching staff on his status. ”So, I’m going to go out there and get myself into shape for if they do call me up, I’m ready to rock.”

There’s a very good chance that Corto could be activated sooner rather than later. Corto would be an immediate boost to Buffalo’s coverage units on special teams.

Bills healthier

The bye week did allow some of Buffalo’s defenders to heal up.

Back on the practice field Monday were Bryan Scott and Keith Ellison as well as Marcus Stroud.

The only defender that had an injury prior to the bye that has not returned to practice is Terrence McGee.

On offense Shawn Nelson is back practicing as well.

Presumably Wood and Bell are getting rest coming off of their major offseason surgeries here in the bye week. Green was nicked up in last Sunday’s game. McGee, Scott, Ellison and Moats all missed last week’s game due to injury.

Practice update

Three starting defenders are not practicing for the Bills.

The new addition is CB Terrence McGee, who was not seen anywhere on the field during the portion of practice in which the media is permitted to watch. We’ll check with Chan Gailey after practice to see if McGee has been officially added to the injury report or if he has an excused absence.

DE Marcus Stroud (ankle) and ILB Andra Davis (shoulder) are not practicing for a second straight day, lessening their chances of playing on Sunday. If Stroud is not available on Sunday it greatly increases the chances of Alex Carrington making his NFL debut against the Jets. The rookie third-round pick has been inactive for the first three games this season.

Another development in relation to Davis is LB Reggie Torbor is working at inside linebacker alongside Keith Ellison. With Davis out of the lineup, it was initially thought that Akin Ayodele would step in, but Torbor, who played ILB for defensive coordinator George Edwards in Miami the past two years, appears to be the one that would fill the void inside if Davis can’t go.

Torbor has been playing the weak outside linebacker position since he signed with Buffalo back in May, but he has familiarity with the ILB position from his time in the 3-4 system.
