Rams GM: “Be surprised if we stayed at 33″

Posted by Chris Brown on April 23, 2010 – 1:43 pm

In an interview on ESPN Radio Friday, St. Louis Rams GM Billy Devaney said he’d be surprised if they stayed at pick 33 before round two begins tonight at 6pm.

With reports that the Bills and Browns have been in contact with the Rams, you’ve got to believe there are other teams looking to move to the top of the board on day two as well. The Rams apparently feel with all the offers they’re getting they’ll soon be getting an offer they can’t refuse.

There’s a lot of speculation on what the Bills might be targeting, but if they do in fact get up to 33 I see Buffalo targeting a left tackle. The top three prospects left on the board at that position at this point are Rodger Saffold, Charles Brown and Bruce Campbell.

OT Saffold spoke with Bills

Posted by Chris Brown on February 25, 2010 – 2:05 pm

Indiana offensive tackle Rodger Saffold is considered one of this year’s top 10 offensive tackles. He just spoke with the media here at the NFL Combine and confirmed that the Bills were one of several teams he has already spoken with here in Indianapolis.

“I talked to the Bills,” said Saffold. “Of course I talked with coach Johnson. When I got in there for the interview I saw coach Johnson and I tried to make sure I looked at everyone in the room, but it was hard not to focus on coach Johnson.”

Saffold is referring to Bills assistant offensive line coach Bobby Johnson, who was his offensive line coach at Indiana University before joining the Bills staff just last week.

“I had a really good talk with him and it made me feel a lot more comfortable out here, being the only Indiana offensive lineman invited,” said Saffold.
