Tight ends help
The two healthy tight ends on Buffalo’s roster were working with a couple of other players on the roster with respect to blocking assignments in practice Sunday morning.
With only Jonathan Stupar and Michael Matthews practicing for now, the coaching staff had fullbacks Rodney Ferguson and Corey McIntyre working on some blocking drills with the two tight ends.
Should the Bills not add another tight end to the roster prior to the team’s next preseason game, it bears watching as to whether the staff makes more use of their fullbacks for tight end blocking type roles here in the short term.

A couple of more first and second-year players have been added to the list of participants for Bills rookie minicamp.
Tight end Joe Klopfenstein and fullback Rodney Ferguson will also be practicing this weekend. Here’s the initial list of first and second-year players voluntarily participating this weekend.
Ferguson will wear jersey number 44. Klopfenstein still has number 87 from last season.
Bills adding big backs

Buffalo’s last two additions to their offensive backfield bring some noticeable size to the Bills offensive backfield.
Monday’s signing of Rodney Ferguson and last week’s signing of Walter Mendenhall both appear to represent a certain type of back Buffalo was looking to acquire.
Mendenhall (223 pounds) and Ferguson (234 pounds) both carry some weight behind their pads.
It will be interesting to see if the Bills see them as short yardage and goal line type backs or something more behind Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch.
