Okay Bills fans let’s right some wrongs here. This is the third straight week that Jairus Byrd has been up for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week and he has yet to win the award.

Byrd had two more interceptions and now leads the league with 7. This week he’s got some stiff competition including the other rookie who is neck and neck with him right now for Defensive Rookie of the Year honors in Houston’s Brian Cushing. Also Byrd is the only nominee whose performance came in a loss.

Just go to NFL.com and vote for Byrd. You have until noon on Friday when the winner will be announced.

Alright Bills fans he lost to Green Bay’s Clay Matthews last week, here’s a second chance to get Jairus Byrd named the NFL Pepsi Rookie of the Week.

Voting is now open, and will remain open until Friday at noon, so start clicking Bills fans. This guy is one of the main reasons the season is still a season. Three of his last four interceptions have led to touchdowns.

Here’s his competition this week.

New York Jets RB Shonn Greene rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets’ 38 – 0 win over the Oakland Raiders.

Minnesota Vikings WR Percy Harvin totaled 214 net yards, recording three receptions for 42 yards and five kickoff returns including an 88-yard return for a touchdown in the Vikings’ 27 – 17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Indianapolis Colts CB Jacob Lacey made three tackles and had an interception for a 35-yard touchdown in the Colts’ 42 – 6 win over the St. Louis Rams.

Arizona Cardinals RB Beanie Wells rushed 14 times for 67 yards and scored his first NFL touchdown in the Cardinals’ 24 – 17 win over the New York Giants.

Is there any question it should be Byrd this week? Vote early and often Bills fans.
