WR Sinkfield looking to learn fast

Posted by Chris Brown on August 5, 2013 – 9:17 am

Bills recent WR signee Terrell Sinkfield is already on his third NFL club after originally signing with Miami as an undrafted rookie and then Green Bay earlier this summer. Now with Buffalo a week into camp, Sinkfield, who is known as a speed receiver, is hoping the only thing he does fast now is learn the playbook.

“I guess I got a name out here as a fast guy or whatever,” said Sinkfield. “We got a lot of fast guys on the team. I’m just trying to find my place on the offense any place I can help, whether it’s special teams, or the offense, or whatever I can do to help out.”

Sinkfield, who was clocked at running a reported 4.19 40-time, has heard about his speed in team meetings already.

“It’s been circling around, people starting to find out who I am. I really don’t like to brag about it,” he said. “I don’t want to be the speed guy, I just want to go out there and show what I can do as a football player, you know?

“I’m just trying to learn it all, just trying to take it one day at a time.”

WR Sinkfield might be faster than Goodwin

Posted by Chris Brown on August 3, 2013 – 2:45 pm

Bills head coach Doug Marrone said on Saturday that he was “very comfortable” with the speed they have at the receiver position right now. Just hours after making that statement however, the Bills signed one of the fastest undrafted wideouts in the country.

Buffalo signee Terrell Sinkfield, an undrafted rookie out of Northern Iowa, reportedly ran a 4.19 40-time at the University of Minnesota pro day. We passed it along to Bills fans the day it happened back in March. His first 40 time was a 4.27, which would match Buffalo’s Marquise Goodwin. After clocking the 4.19 on his second attempt, NFL clubs made him run a third 40 to legitimize the eye-popping time. Problem was Sinkfield stumbled on his third attempt… and ran a 4.41, which is what T.J. Graham ran at the NFL Combine.

Sinkfield isn’t just a go-route guy. He fights for the ball in traffic, catches the ball well outside his body frame, has great feet along the sidelines and end lines and ran a good number of crossing routes. He played at a lower level of college ball, but he’s been in the NFL setting having signed after the draft with Miami and later Green Bay. Here’s a closer look at Sinkfield’s 4.19 40.

Northern Iowa WR runs 4.19 at pro day

Posted by Chris Brown on March 4, 2013 – 4:47 pm

Northern Iowa had their pro day Monday and WR Terrell Sinkfield burned up stopwatches with an unimaginable time in the 40.

Sinkfield after running a 4.27 was clocked on his second attempt at 4.19 according to FOX Sports North. With a time that fast he was actually asked to run a third 40. Sinkfield (6’1″ 199) stumbled on his third attempt and still ran a 4.41.

“I knew it was good when I finished,” Sinkfield told FOXSportsNorth of his 4.19. “I was pretty happy, so I came back. I thought I messed up when they said go again. I’m like, ‘Dang, why do I have to run again?'”

A former track star and running back in high school, Sinkfield was barely recruited by Division I schools. Even his hometown Minnesota Golden Gophers didn’t give him an offer. That’s what made him running at Minnesota’s pro day so ironic.

Sinkfield had 43 catches for 499 yards and four touchdowns last season. Here’s a highlight reel of his from Northern Iowa. I thought he’d just be a guy running a lot of nine routes, but he’s good at fighting for the ball and adjusting to the ball in the air seeing that his quarterback was not consistent with his accuracy.
