White knows Cooper from their SEC matchups

Posted by Chris Brown on October 29, 2017 – 10:36 am

Raiders WR Amari Cooper certainly won’t be foreign to Tre’Davious White in the least on Sunday. The LSU product faced him in college when the two of them were playing in the SEC. What impresses White so much about Cooper’s game is his ability to just get away from coverage.

“Amari, he’s been doing it since college. I faced him for two years so I know how tough it is,” White said. “He’s one of the most talented guys I’ve ever faced. His routes are better than any receiver I ever faced going all the way back to college. He gets in and out of his breaks like I don’t know what. So we just have to try to minimize the big plays and stay on top of things.”

White is also hoping his defensive line gets their hands up in the passing lanes knowing the Derek Carr gets the ball out fast in an effort to neutralize the pass rush.

“Our defensive line is going to do a good job of getting their hands up to bat some balls or get some balls in the air,” he said.

Why Tre’Davious chose No. 27

Posted by Chris Brown on May 1, 2017 – 1:04 pm

The reason why first-round pick Tre’Davious White chose jersey number 27 for his Bills uniform seem pretty obvious, but there were too many tie-ins for him to ignore it.

White, who wore 18 at LSU, had it down to two choices, No. 20 and No. 27. The cornerback ultimately chose 27 because he was drafted 27th overall in round one on April 27th.

Other teams tried to get Bills pick at 10

Posted by Chris Brown on April 28, 2017 – 5:03 pm

Head coach Sean McDermott said there was a lot of interest in their pick at 10 on Thursday. Kansas City was ultimately the team that completed a trade with Buffalo, but other teams were certainly trying to do the same.

McDermott in an appearance on the John Murphy Show Friday confirmed that there were other teams calling Buffalo trying to get their pick at 10.

“We had a couple of teams that were calling and Kansas City was the best offer at the time,” he said. “There were some other players on the board that we could have easily taken, good players and that was probably the hardest part about it.”

Buffalo moved down 17 spots to 27, but was very happy with the player they got in Tre’Davious White.
