Inside The Bills

Brown’s Best Week 9

Posted by Chris Brown on November 3, 2008 – 7:38 pm

There wasn’t a whole lot for the Bills to hang their hat on in this one, but we sift through the wreckage that was Sunday to bring you some of the better individual efforts.

BEST RUN AFTER CATCH: Marshawn Lynch – After catching a one-yard pass from Trent Edwards, he tacked on 41 more yards to put the Bills in scoring possession on their first possession.

BEST HAND WAVER: Derek Fine – The rookie tight end was flapping his arms like a bird to get Edwards’ attention and Buffalo’s QB found him for a nine-yard touchdown pass.

BEST RUN BLITZ: Bryan Scott – His blitz off the edge dropped Thomas Jones for a one-yard loss and it forced the Jets to punt.

BEST SERIES: Bills defense – Following a turnover by the offense at the Bills six-yard line, Buffalo’s defense got a pressure from Spencer Johnson on second down and forced an incomplete pass on third down to surrender just a field goal as the Jets lost two yards following the turnover.

BEST SERIES (INDIVIDUAL): Jabari Greer – The Bills cornerback had a pair of pass breakups on the Jets long second quarter drive that ultimately finished with a missed field goal.

BEST TACKLE FOR LOSS: Paul Posluszny – On a 2nd-and-10 Poz dropped Leon Washington for a two-yard loss to bring up 3rd and long.

BEST SHED: Terrence McGee – On that very 3rd-and-12 play, Jerricho Cotchery caught a receiver screen from Brett Favre and McGee shed his block out on the edge and tackled Cotchery for a three-yard loss.

BEST AWARENESS: Brian Moorman – Moorman knew exactly where the first down marker was on his fake punt play and made an acrobatic move to convert the first down. Unfortunately a penalty nullified the play.

BEST SAVE YOUR BACON PLAY: Rian Lindell – His 53-yard field goal bailed out after the drive stalled at the Jets 35-yard line following a false start penalty and a sack.

BEST CONVERSION: Marshawn Lynch – The Bills feature back got just enough on an important  3rd-and-4 carry to get the first down and a second half drive.

BEST PRESSURE: Paul Posluszny – His pressure on Brett Fare led to the errant throw that was picked off by Jabari Greer.

BEST TRANSITION: Jabari Greer- After making the interception, Greer quickly bolted down the sideline outrunning the pursuit for the touchdown.
