For the second time this season the Jacksonville Jaguars have signed a former Buffalo defensive back. At the beginning of the season the Jags signed Bills cast off Will James.
Now Jacksonville has signed former seventh round pick CB Kennard Cox.
Jabari Greer is close to returning to action, but if he can’t play this week, Buffalo would enter Sunday’s game with just three healthy corners (McGee, McKelvin, Corner) and Donte Whitner, who plays the nickel.
Cox had been on Green Bay’s practice squad. Some are speculating that Jacksonville’s signing of Cox is a bit of gamesmanship on Jack Del Rio’s part since the Jags play the Packers on Sunday.
Cox was the third cornerback drafted by Buffalo last spring and was used at both cornerback and safety in training camp. But he was released after cuts prior to the regular season.
