As much as Bills fans are lamenting the course the 2008 season has taken, Buffalo’s newest player OT Jonathan Scott can provide some perspective.
Scott was signed on Thursday to fill the open roster spot left by the I-R’d Aaron Schobel. A 2006 draft pick of Detroit, the Lions are the only team he’s played for in his three-year career.
This past August he was released in final cuts. I asked him even though no player wants to get cut, does he look back on it now as almost a blessing in light of how the season is panning out for the Lions this year (0-14).
Here was his response.
“It would have been a real long year,” said Scott. “I’m kind of impressed with the organization as a whole here. They run things a lot differently. I’m ready for a fresh start, something different. It’s like going to the Super Bowl for me.”
I’m sure after leaving the Lions organization anything feels like you’re going to the Super Bowl. But as bad as some Bills fans think it is right now for their team, it could be worse. Just ask Scott.
