With the Carolina Panthers underway in their negotiations with impending FA OT Jordan Gross according to NFL Network’s Adam Schefter, it will be very interesting to see what the average annual salary will be on a new contract should one be reached as it pertains to Jason Peters.
As we all know Peters is still looking for a renegotiated deal with two years left on his current contract. Gross figures to get more than Miami rookie Jake Long ($8.5M per), but we’ll see if the Panthers can structure a creative deal.
Either way the contract will absolutely shape the current landscape for blind side tackles and should have a bearing on anything that may or may not happen between the Bills and Peters concerning a new agreement.
