Maualuga pulls up after first 40
Posted by on February 23, 2009 – 6:26 pmUSC LB Rey Maualuga pulled up right at the end of his first 40 run. He grabbed his right hamstring, went down to the ground slowly for a minute and then got back to his feet and was limping badly. He finished the run, but right as he geared down, he grabbe for it. He had an unofficial time of 4.83.
He grabbed high on his hamstring just below his backside. He told NFL Network he felt a pop. He’s hoping it’s just a strain, but obviously he’s not sure at this point. Maualuga said two weeks ago he tweaked his hamstring and while he didn’t stop training leading up to the combine, he did not do any sprinting until today.
