The Jets finally pulled the trigger on releasing Brandon Moore this afternoon. In the wake of the Derrick Dockery release I’d jump on Moore immediately. The guy is coming off arguably his best season and he’d make for a strong left side of the line next to Peters.
Moore had been making peanuts, though the reason the Jets cut him was due to a $7M roster bonus early next month. But here are his old contract numbers (base salary) for the next four years.
Now in all likelihood he’s going to be looking for a big raise, but I’d like to think he could be had for $3M a season. That’s still less than half of what the Bills were paying Dockery per season on average, and you get a better player.
